After learning martial art for 4 years, I would tell you that
Yes, I can fight
and Yes, I know how to kill
Muay Thai didnt teach me how, striking to kill is quite tiring I imagine
BJJ give me rear necked choke, which is a very very effective and easy way to kill a person
BJJ also give me plenty of real fighting experience
And from experience I can tell you 100%, all the martial arts are useless if you don't constantly apply it to a real enemy in order to develop muscle memory
You can kick sandback, punch the air all day, and they will do you 0 good when it comes to real fight
So why the heading ? Can I beat Bruce Lee ?
Ermm I think in a BJJ competition, with rules and restriction, I can really beat someone who never practice it, it is so common sense
HOWEVER, Bruce Lee is a street fighter, eye gauging, groin kicking, toe stepping etc, using the most energy efficient way to take down enemy is his philosophy
So I have very little chance in the street rule
OKAY actually above are all introduction, the real thing I want to say is
I THINK A LOT of MMA fighters/boxers are better than Bruce Lee already
It is just very very common logic, you just follow my thought
MMA fighters, Muay Thai fighters, Boxers, they do it for a living and they do it all day everyday
They have so much more experience, and more than physically matched with Bruce Lee
This is from the perspective of someone who practice martial art
But most people do not know it because of course, most people do not practice martial art
And also who cares if some nobody is better than Bruce Lee
Now it brings me to this, does it mean that your achievement triumph over Bruce Lee's if you think you are able to beat him at his best
Ermm, no
This boils down to a point from an article I read online, the questions when you are asking who is a better fighter, do you mean "Who is technically a better fighter?" OR "Who is a more groundbreaking fighter in our respective era"
You get what I mean ? An anecdote, I am taking a wild guess that at least some students in MIT university are already smarter than Albert Eistein, but who gets remembered in the history ?
